Creating a New Document

  1. Login to Flywheel and click the WP Admin button to go to the dashboard
  2. Under “Documents” in the left side bar of the dashboard, click Add New
  3. Add title in the title box, content/description in the big text box (optional), and excerpt in the small excerpt box (recommended)
  4. Under Document Link, choose one of the following:
    • None: for text-based/copy-and-pasted resources (content goes in the big text box)
    • File Upload: for resources that are file attachments/don’t have existing links (PDFs, Word docs, PowerPoints, etc.)
      • Click Add File
      • Go to “Upload files” tab
      • Drag and drop file into the box or click “Select Files”
      • Click Add File
    • A custom URL: for resources that are links
      • Copy and paste the URL for the resources into the https: box
  5. In the Document Categories box, select/add relevant categories
  6. In the Document Tags box, select/add relevant tags (if applicable)
  7. In the Document Authors box, select/add relevant authors (if applicable)
  8. In the Document Attributes box, change “Default template” to “Document”
  9. In the Publish box, do one of the following:
    • Save as Pending Review
      • Click Edit next to “Status: Draft”
      • Change “Draft” to “Pending Review” using the drop-down box
      • Click OK
      • Click “Save as Pending” button in the upper left corner of the box
    • Save as Draft (if not ready to be reviewed or published)
      • Click “Save Draft” button in the upper left corner of the box
    • Preview (to view what the document will look like once published)
      • Click “Preview” button in the upper right corner of the box
    • Publish
      • Click “Publish” button in bottom right corner of the box
